The Year of the Home Coming media launch yesterday went extremely well , and a full report on it all will follow shortly.
But housing associations, kindred bodies, potential allies everywhere and anywhere, and indeed individuals, tenants, etc may well be asking ( and we hope they are asking!) "what's next, how do we get involved?".
Simple - just register an interest by emailing - with a few details, contact nos etc - the campaign's manager, Alan Smart asmart@sfha.co.uk
And camapign roll out wise, here, in broadly chronological order, is what is happening next:
Thursday- Friday 28-29th January - a full briefing for all housing assocition attending the SFHAs "Directors and Chairs Conference" in St Andrews
Week begining Monday 2nd February - mutually convenient date and venue to be agreed - meeting with all husing sector kindred bdies to discuss their invovement in the campaign and the establisment of a Year of the Home Coming campaign team - much much broader than just the SFHA. We are merely the instigators - we want this to be everybody's campaign. Through this apprach we will win, all win
Week begining 8th February - regionally based campaign launches, details to be confirmed
Thursday 12h February -possible lobby of Holyrood. There already is a housing crisis themed lobby of Holyrood by the Transport and General Wokers Union that day. We hope to be able to compliment this is some way, join forces, and are working on precisely how. Note: The Depute General Secretary of the Scottish TUC no less, Dave Moxhan was at our launch yesterday - so the propellors are already turning! John Wheatley would be well chuffed.
All though February - ongong briefings meetings wherever whenever. Just e mail us and we will do our best to meet your meeting requests. And yes we will come to speak at your Housing Association Board meeting or a similar forum. And dont lt dsitance put you off - our problem not yours! This needs to be a Scotland wide, even world wide campaign! ( but we aint going to Canada - the web and the phone will have to do you, friends!)
Sometime in February - Campaign launches at Holyrood and Westminster. Register with us and you might get an invite - meet Alex, Gordon, Margo ,Annabel, and Vince Cable even!
More, much more wil follow. Register with us by a simple e-mail asmart@sfha.co.uk And also ( for yee techies) subscribe to the blogs RRS to keep bang up to date,.And everybody keep checking this blog for what we hope will be daily updates, sometimes twice daily updates.
